DescriptionAPCR is a screening test for FV Leiden Mutation. This test is no longer offered routinely as the department now offers Factor V Leiden genetic testing on all thrombophilia screen requests. Contact the laboratory to specifically request this test.

Additional InfoThe APCR is expressed as a ratio. Should the result be less than 2.5 the sample is sent for FV Leiden PCR testing.

InterpretationInterpreted against a normal range. Ratios of less than 2.5 are investigated for the genetic mutation. The ratio is related to the genotype of the patient.
