|Interpretation||Acetoacetate increased in DKA, prolonged fasting, anorexia nervosa, persistent vomiting, GSD I, III, VI. Beta-OH-butyrate predominant ketone in DKA and raised in alcoholic ketoacidosis
|Collection Conditions||Should be sent to the lab with a concurrent glucose specimen. Please ensure a fluoride OXALATE specimen is collected. Consult paediatric biochemist regarding specimen type if unsure (x64565)
