DescriptionA tumour marker. CA125 is elevated in patients with ascites or pleural effusions of any cause. CA125 is raised in heart failure. CA125 varies throughout the menstrual cycle. It is only useful for the follow-up of known Ca ovary

Additional InfoNon specific marker for Ca ovary - CA125 is also elevated in patients with heart failure and ascites or pleural effusions of any cause. However, very high concentrations in cases of undiagnosed pelvic/abdominal mass may be suggestive of Ca ovary. PLEASE NOTE: TEST CAN ONLY BE ADDED TO A SAMPLE WITHIN 8 HOURS OF COLLECTION
