DescriptionAnalysers are available on acute wards and in casualty. DO NOT USE without having been trained by lab personnel. If laboratory analysis is required, the lab MUST be contacted prior to sending the sample. Hand-written labels MUST be used on samples sent to the lab(addressograph-labelled samples will not be accepted). They must arrive in the laboratory within 10 minutes of venepucture. Samples MUST NOT be sent via the pneumatic air tube; this invalidates the results.
