|Description||LDH is a tumour marker for blood malignancies. Can also be used as a marker for diagnosis and treatment of liver disease (acute viral hepatitis, cirrhosis, metastatic carcinoma) and cardiac disease (MI) and tumours (lung, kidney).|
|Indication||Used in the investigation and monitoring of haematological malignancies.
|Interpretation||If increased in lymphoma may indicate a poor prognosis.|
|Collection Conditions||Use Gold top (serum gel) only. Lithium heparin (Green/Yellow top) tubes are not suitable.|
