DescriptionTest performed part of a urine metabolic screen where clinically indicated. The mucopolysaccharidoses are lysosomal storage disorders caused by defects in breaking down glycosaminoglycans.
Indication The mucopolysaccharidoses are chronic disorders with a wide range of presenting features which include: dysmorphism, skeletal deformities, liver dysfunction, henias, progressive psychomotor retardation, corneal clouding, cardiac problems.
