|Description||Quantitation of the concentration of posaconazole in serum.|
|Indication||Patient on posaconazole for at least 5-7 days.|
|Additional Info||The assay is a liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry method.|
|Interpretation||Prophylactic dose: Trough Levels should be > 0.7mg/L.
Treatment dose: Trough Levels of <1.25mg/L are subtherapeutic.
If levels are below this - ensure drug is taken with fatty food, consider increasing dose (max 800mg/d) or examining concomitant medications.
As yet, the level at which posaconazole becomes toxic has not been defined.|
