DescriptionA special single pink paediatric bottle is available and only requires a minimum amount of 1 mL blood inoculation. Up to 3 mLs may be inoculated for optimal assessment/growth. Paediatric blood cultures will also isolate most fungi.

Turnround Comment6 days for final negative result. An interim report will be provided at 36 hours for paediatric samples. Positive results may be available sooner but TAT is dependent on bacterial load in blood stream. Turnaround time may be increased if prolonged culture is indicated.
