Search Links: General Info : Protocols : Patient Info

DescriptionThe e antigen determines the infectiousness of patients with an acute infection and Hepatitis B virus chronic carrier state. When testing for HBeAg we also determine the presence of antibody to HBeAg. Both are mutually exclusive and presence of anti-HBeAg will usually mean clearance of HBeAg.
