DescriptionQuantitative analaysis of amino acids in CSF. PLEASE ALSO SEND A PAIRED PLASMA SAMPLE FOR AMINO ACID ANALYSIS. This allows a CSF/plasma ratio for glycine to be calculated, required in the diagnosis of non-ketotic hyperglycinaemia (NKH).
IndicationMost commonly used by Paediatric Neurologists for investigation of fitting and other neurological problems e.g. CSF glycine for non-ketotic hyperglycinaemia (NKH) and CSF serine for serine deficiency disorders.
