DescriptionA non specific indicator of plasma protein. It is not possible to add this test to a sample previously sent to the laboratory.
IndicationUsed as a marker of inflammatory disorders and conditions leading to hyperviscosity i.e myeloma Waldestrom's macrogammaglobinaemia for example
Additional InfoA normal PV doesn't rule out inflammatory disease. High levels usually indicate an underlying pathology. Is used for the monitoring of inflammatory and hyperviscosity conditions.
