InterpretationLow values found in exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI). Results NOT affected by pancreatic enzyme supplements (e.g. Creon). Very water samples may have low elastase values due to the dilutional effect of the stool water. No sample will be rejected based upon its consistency but in order to avoid mis-interpretation, low elastase results from watery samples will not be reported.
