DescriptionProcess used to test, match and reserve blood units for patients. Crossmatching tests the patients plasma against red cell donations to ensure compatibility. Crossmatching is an essential part of blood provision where the use of electronic issue has been discounted. The ward Autofate system can be used to check if blood is held on a patient.
