InterpretationResults are returned as mg per litre (mg/L) and range from <2.0 to >200. Levels of above 40mg/L are considered significant in most patients. In people with cystic fibrosis, high levels can be found without apparent disease and cutoff of 90mg/L is advised. In all cases the result of this test must be used in conjunction with the results of other laboratory tests, radiology and overall clinical picture in making a diagnosis.
