Specialist Haematology provides a comprehensive range of Specialist Haematology testing services and provides laboratory advice to users. Laboratory testing includes, Haemoglobinopathy/Thalassaemia Screening, Red Cell Enzyme Defects, Specialised Red Cell Assays (Red Cell Folate, Gastric Intrinsic Factor Antibodies, Erythropoetin, G6PD, Eosin-5 Maleamide (EMA) and Red Cell Blood Volumes), Blood Film Morphology.

Anticoagulant Therapy is supplied and an automated dosing/next appointment system is provided to the hospital and local PCT.

Specialist Haematology is a recognised centre for Haemostasis and Thrombosis testing and supports the North and West Yorkshire Haemophilia network. As the central laboratory for the network the laboratory provides a 24/7 service for the diagnosis and monitored of bleeding and Thrombotic disorders using a selection of testing protocols.

Interpretation and advice is provided by laboratory and clinical staff (Clinical Haematology).
