POCT Service Information

Reporting a problem:

Please use the following details to get in touch with the POCT team to report a fault with a POCT device:-

Ext: 22338 (Normal working hours: 0830 -1700)
Bleep:1770 (Normal working hours: 0830 -1700)

Mobile: 07775996028 (normal working hours)

E-mail: leedsth-tr.PointofCare@nhs.net

Please state the ward/unit and a brief description of the fault, if known, when contacting the team. Please report the issue as soon as possible to avoid further downtime and risk of clinical incident due to analyser unavailability.

During out of hours, please bleep Biochemistry on 2486 to report a fault. Please note that some blood gas analyser problems can be monitored and resolved remotely by Biochemistry using system management software.

Please note that processing the urgent work coming into the laboratory is the main priority of lab staff working out of hours (who are lone workers) and therefore attending the analyser is not an urgent priority. Refer to the Blood gas analyser locations list in the event of an unusable analyser.

If it is not possible to resolve a problem out of hours, the problem will be logged and passed onto the POCT team to follow up the next working day.
